Learning outcomes
The aim of the course to provide knowledge and practice on basic, modern measurement methods used in scientific research and engineering practice. During the semester, each student performs seven 4-hour lab exercises and prepares the respective protocol.
Course content
Single-crystal X-ray diffraction, X-ray line profile analysis, advanced Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Liquid scintillation spectrometry, Gamma spectroscopy, Infrared spectroscopy, Electron spin resonance, Positron Annihilation,  Quantum Eraser, Liquid crystals and displays.
Assessment method
Practice marks. Based on the average of entrance tests at the beginning of laboratory measurements and the results of the submitted protocols.
