Competencies: Knowledge: Understands the advanced features of genetechnology level. Understands and applies the terminology required for understanding genetechnology. Understands the genetechnology. Understands the importance of interdisciplinarity. Understands the relationships of the different disciplinal knowledge. Ability: Able to recognize and coherently interpret the features of genetechnology on advanced level. Able to apply the advanced terminology of genetechnology. Able to present her/his results on advanced level both in oral and written form. Able to recognize and integrate the interrelation of the different scientific disciplines. Able to organize data and knowledge based from scientific aspect, able to analyze and interpret. Possesses and improves the manual skills needed for experimental works, measures. Able to apply the knowledge gained in the advanced scientific interpretation of the phenomenon of genetechnology. Attitude: Claims to be able to use the knowledge gained in an integrative interpretation of the functioning of living systems. Open to follow the new biological and other scientific results. Rule and observe the rules of scientific ethics. Communicate the results of the disciplines. Course content
The aim of the course is to introduce and discusses the advanced topics of genetechnology. Main topics of the course: Molecular cloning; Polymerase chain reaction; DNA sequencing; Practice and practice of primary design. DNA libraries; Genome editing; Transgenic organisms (a), Problems of special samples in molecular studies (b); Mutagenesis techniques (a), Species identification, phylogenetic markers (b); Expression systems (a), Molecular markers of functional diversity (b); Optogenetics (a), Markers of population-level questions (b); Application of plant biotechnology (invited speaker) (a), Molecular markers of ecophysiological conditions I. (b); Molecular markers of ecophysiological conditions II. (b)
Assessment method
k5 = exam mark (5) (1 failed, 5 excellent) Preparation for the exam from the class material and the given textbooks.
