- Learning outcomes
- The fundamental aim of this course is for students to acquire a comprehensive and solid foundation of knowledge concerning the central concepts, theories, and laws of general, inorganic, and organic chemistry. The knowledge gained provides a stable basis for understanding and successfully mastering later, more advanced chemical and materials science disciplines. As a result of the training, students will be able to perform a logical and systematic interpretation and analysis of chemical phenomena and processes. This includes recognizing and applying basic chemical principles to solve problems encountered in real life and other scientific fields. Finally, the course develops the students' ability to articulate chemical phenomena professionally and clearly, and to critically process the relevant literature.
- Course content
- The course reviews the fundamental laws of chemistry, chemical bonding, the main groups of inorganic compounds, as well as the basics of organic chemistry.
- Assessment method
- Oral exam
