Knowledge: Has a basic knowledge of hydrogeology, the practical elements based on them, and able to systematize them. Knows and applies the modern practical and calculation methods neccesary at a basic level. Is familiar with the conceptual system and terminology that describes groundwater processes. Able to recognize processes and systems, and to identify scientific problems in hydrogeology Able to apply theories, paradigms and principles of hydrogeology in practice, and to carry out basic calculations. Able to apply the laws governing natural and related anthropogenic processes in the field of hydrogeology, and, thanks to their complex approach, to recognize and articulate problems arising from the interaction between nature and society. Attitude: Strives to understand the relationship between nature and humans. Is open to professional cooperation with experts working in the fields of social policy, economics, and environmental protection. Autonomy and responsibility: Has the independence to manage basic professional questions and is able to answer them based on available data and information. Works responsibly with experts in natural sciences and other fields. Az oktatás tartalma angolul: The aim of the course is to represent the theoretical basics, concepts and processes of hydrogeology, and particularly the connections of them, as well as the basic calculation and mapping methods suitable for examining all of these. Topics: physical (Darcy’s law, fluid potential, characteristics of the porous media) and hydrostratigraphic (aquifer, aquitard) basics, groundwater production and related environmental consequences, groundwater flow equations and flow nets, water level fluctuations, hydraulic conductivity, groundwater flow systems, hydrogeochemistry, groundwater related phenomena and processes, global hydrogeological challenges. A számonkérés és értékelés rendszere angolul: Gyj(5) Evaluation is based on three written examinations within the semester.
