Learning of the fundamentals of Colloid and Nanoscience.
Course content
Colloid particles, colloid systems. Macromolecular colloids. Association colloids. Preparation of colloidal dispersions. Surface (interfacial) properties of colloidal dispersions. Colloid stability. Adsorption at interfaces. Wetting phenomena. Kinetic properties of colloids. Electrokinetic and sedimentation phenomena. Optical properties of colloids. Rheology of colloids. Aggregation processes in colloidal dispersions. Emulsions and thin liquid films. Cohesive colloid systems.
Assessment method
For theoretical mark: Final oral or written exam. For practical grade: Performing basic experiments in colloid and nanosystems.
