Learning outcomes
The course aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of the correct and safe use of fundamental chemical and colloid chemical laboratory equipment, as well as the measurement methods for colloid chemical phenomena and their associated theories. This knowledge will enable them to collect, organize, and interpret measured data, draw well-founded conclusions, and apply colloid chemical principles in practice. Through the acquired skills, students will be able to perform laboratory experiments precisely and independently, analyze data, and carry out calculations, all while documenting their work in a clear and scientifically sound lab report.
Course content
Prperties of association colloids. Viscosity measurement and determination of macromolecular molecular weight. Preparation, characterization, and stability study of emulsions. Study of sedimentation phenomena and particle size determination. Investigation of adsorption phenomena. Preparation of dispersion colloids and characterization of colloidal stability.
Assessment method
term mark, based on submitted lab reports
