Learning outcomes
a) Knowledge The modern materials science has been completed by computer simulation beside the traditional theoretical and experimental researches. The aim of this course is the students to know the numerical methods, those are frequently used in the computer simulation of materials science. b) Abilities The students will be able to develop independently numerical simulation considering their research field. c) Attitude The students are willing to expand their knowledge by reading scientific publications. d) Autonomy and responsibility The students are able to make decisions about their studies.
Course content
Numerical solution of linear equations, numerical modelling of extreme, methods for calculation of one- and multidimensional definite integrals, numerical methods of ordinary differential equations, numerical solutions of partial differential equations, Monte Carlo simulation methods.
Assessment method
Written exam (K5)
