Learning outcomes

The course intends to give students an overview of the history of the U.S. It endeavors to emphasize the interdependence of domestic and foreign policy, as well as to show the process how the original thirteen states have grown into a global “empire”.

Course content

This lecture course surveys the history of the United States from the 17th century to the 21st century. Students are offered an overview and an evaluation of the events and issues shaping American history from colonial times to the post-Cold War era.
