- The course intends to follow the most important political, economic, social, institutional and cultural changes in the History of Great Britain in 12 steps, chronologically from the Celts until the Premiership of Margaret Thatcher.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- During our 12-week survey course on the History of Great Britain we intend to highlight the major political, economic, social and cultural milestones and developments in chronoligical order from The CElts to the Premiership of Margaret Thatcher and their co- and interdependence as well as their significant and consequences. We also intend to get students acquinted with the most important glossary items as well as parts of the most important primary and secondary history sources.
- Számonkérés és értékelés
- Students have to pass a written exam, a multiple choice test (70 questions) based on lecture handouts (you can retrieve it from seas3.elte.hu/velich) and certain chapters of the documents and glossary sections of Tibor Frank- Tamás Magyarics: Handouts for British History (Budapest, Nemzeti tankönyvkiadó, 1994) and some of our compulsory course books available in SEAS Library e.g., C-Roberts - D.Roberts: A History of England (vol.1-2) New Jersey: Prentice Hall,1985.
