- Oktatás célja
- The main aim of the course is to acquaint students with authors hailing from countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, whose novels have been awarded the Booker Prize, the most prestigious literary award of the English-speaking world. During the course, we are going to discuss the history of the Booker Prize as well as the changing reception of postcolonial authors. Four works will be discussed in more detail: New Zealander Keri Hulme’s The Bone People (1984), Indian author Arundhati Roy’s The God of Small Things (1997), South African J. M. Coetzee’s Disgrace (1999) and British-Nigerian author Bernardine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other (2019).
