- This course aims to: familiarise students with the traditional life of the native people of Australia provide students with a historical perspective of white colonisation in order to gain an understanding of the contemporary situation of Aboriginal people demonstrate the plurality of Aboriginal experience and the range of their diverse talents use a wide variety of materials, including many texts authored by Aborigines introduce students to debates involving Aboriginal people and teach them skills to understand those debates

- Assessment of the course will be based on: Attendance, participation short presentation on a selected topic seminar paper (6-8 pages) in-class test
