- During the course various translation methods of audio-visual sources will be introduced and practiced. Throughout the course students will get to know the techniques of transferring multimedial (audio-visual) texts into another language (and thus another culture). Various translation issues deriving from the trimming of the original text due to effacement, condensation, addition will be discussed. The secondary aim is to enable students to copy with highly technical texts and to help them find the proper target language technical terms.

- translating and working with audio-visual science documentaries, lexical transfer operation, target and source language improvement

- 60 % inclass trasnlation and classroom activity, 40 % home translation assignment
