- To provide an overview of the Hungarian-populated regions of the Great Plain and Transylvania, their ethnic groups, their folk culture, and the main literature on the topic. To introduce students to the physical geography, administration, history, and settlements of these two regions and the subregions and regions belonging to them.

- 1. The Great Plain in general 2. The Upper Tisza region 3. The Middle Tisza region: privileged districts, Hajdúság, Nagykunság, Jászság, Kiskunság 4. The Middle Tisza region between the Danube and Tisza and the non-privileged areas 5. The Lower Tisza region, Bácska and Bánság 6. Transylvania in general 7. County areas in Transylvania: Kalotaszeg, Mezőség, Hóstát 8. Southern Transylvania, Hungarian diaspora, Saxons 9. Székelyland in general and regions 10. Székelyland regions 11. Partium 12. Moldavia, Bukovina, Regát
- Assessment method
- Blind map test: Knowledge of maps of the Great Plain and Transylvania (hydrology, counties/counties and their seats, settlements belonging to ethnic groups) 20% Oral and written exam at the end of the semester: 80%. Grading based on the 100% possible score from 1 to 5
