- Oktatás célja
- The aim of the course is to investigate the trope of otherness, one of the basic motifs within the genre of science fiction. It explores science fiction as a genre, its place in the American cultural scene, and the use of estrangement in cultural and political discourse.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- Among the topics explored in the course are: alien cultures as a metaphor for reproductive taboos, the figure of the monstrous alien, and alien invasion as migration narratives, posthuman narratives and normative gender scripts, and the relativity of the utopian / dystopian construction of a secondary world, robots and the human condition.
