- The aim of this intensive lecture course is to familiarize students with the most important social and psychological theories of second language acquisition and learning.
- Course content
- The course gives an overview of the various types of theories, discusses their merits and shortcomings as well as their application in foreign language teaching. Special attention is paid to individual differences in second language acquisition and the role of instruction in language learning. Different members of the Department take turns in teaching this course and will introduce students not only to state of the art research but also to some of their own achievements in the given field.
