- Learning outcomes
- This course aims to build on the skills learned in introductory courses in cultural studies. Students will learn about what shapes Canadian cultural identity. Students will need to make use of various resources to obtain information in order to come to knowledgeable conclusions.
- Course content
- Areas such as history, geography, literature, visual art, language and multiculturalism will be explored. Special focus is placed on the First Nations and their way of life as seen through aspects of their art, mythology and culture. Social issues will be explored through the relevant readings and discussions.
- Assessment method
- Grades will depend on preparation for the lessons, presentations, assignments and a term paper.
