Learning outcomes
The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with the periods of literature of a given era, its authors and groups, and the poetics of individual prominent writers and works.
Course content
The problems of periodization. Symbolism. Acmeism. Futurism, peasant poets, Marina Tsvetaeva. Drama literature and theater. Neorealism. The satirists of the 1920s–1930s, the first wave of emigration. Characteristics of Russian prose from the 1920s to the 1950s. Russian poetry in the second half of the 20th century. Russian prose in the second half of the 20th century. Postmodernism. The art of Brodsky. Post-realism.
Assessment method
Colloquium (oral exam). The exam tests the material of the course, including selected items from both literary and scholarly works, according to the student’s choice.

Literary works discussed in the lectures.
Recommended bibliography
Students receive the list of scholarly literature from which they can choose.
