- A) Knowledge The student knows the main features of Russian scholarly language in the fields of communication theory and literary theory, cultural studies; is familiar with the most important logical and linguistic tools of argumentation in Russian academic papers in the mentioned fields; knows the specificity of the system of citation and references in Russian academic papers in the mentioned fields of studies; expands his/her knowledge in terms of concepts and approaches of culturology, communication theory, intercultural mediation and literary theory in general, and of the possibilities of interpreting various phenomena of Russian culture in particular. B) Skills The student is able to overview and comprehend the chain of thought in shorter or longer Russian critical works in the mentioned fields; is able to present the individually comprehended chain of thought in Russian language; can mobilize the best of his/her language and teacher skills in processing and presenting knowledge. C) Attitudes The student inspired by his/her acquired knowledge and skills, strives at enlarging his cultural erudition through ever new literary and critical reading; tries to link his/her acquired knowledge to his/her own previous knowledge and apply new knowledge along with the learned skills in other fields of his/her study; feels stimulated to search for the best methods to acquire and present knowledge suitable for his/her personality and skills and to discuss his/her experience in this field. D) Autonomy and Responsibility The student finds new connections within the course’s curriculum and between the new information and his/her previous knowledge or cultural experience according to his/her interest and talent; takes responsibility to present the acquired information by mobilizing the best of his/her knowledge and skills; independently recognizes if he/she lacks something in his/her background knowledge, formulates the appropriate questions, and feels responsibility for looking for answers on his/her own.
- Course content
- The practical course focus on expanding knowledge of culture and communication in general, and specifically on the possibilities of interpreting Russian cultural phenomena. The participants will engage mainly with the work of Russian researchers in the fields of cultural studies, literary studies, language and communication theory, and also with papers contributing to the interpretation of specific Russian cultural phenomena in Russian language and will present the acquired knowledge to each other.
- Assessment method
- The basis of the assessment is the active, well-prepared participation in the classes and the completion of the tasks assigned during the semester. Evaluation in a five-level grading system.
