- Oktatás célja
- The course aims to provide a platform for reading and reflecting on texts together, exploring current issues, problems, and challenges in service development in the field of disability and special needs education. The course will be structured accordingly. During the first meetings, we will consider the topics of disability and special needs education, based on the participants' own questions. We will approach topics that are important to the participants, which can be examined individually or in groups. Based on the outcomes of these discussions, we will select the literature and innovations for subsequent lessons and then plan the course of further work. We are pleased to welcome two guest professors, Sarah Hurwitz and Leslie Davis, to the course this semester. They will introduce students to US disability legislation, with a particular focus on equal access, and will cover the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

- Conditions for obtaining credits Attendance at classes Personal attendance at classes is mandatory during the semester. Absences are valid in accordance with the ELTE regulations, subject to consultation with the instructors Reading and processing the required literature Class attendance is conditional upon having read the texts and taken verifiable notes, which must be brought to class. It is also necessary to complete work and assignments outside of class by the specified deadlines. Presentation of a chosen theoretical topic or innovative practice In addition to the set texts, guest lecturers and the course instructor will present innovations in service development and best practice. In the second half of the semester, students will present a theoretical topic or innovative practice of their choice. This is a prerequisite for completing the course. Participants can choose from two options for this presentation. 3.1 Group presentation Participants look for innovations relating to the course topic in their own neighborhoods, such as service development and good service practices, and present them to the other participants in small groups. The presentation should focus on the following aspects: Why did you choose this practice? Why do you consider it innovative? Who is this practice aimed at? What are the most important professional and methodological elements to highlight? The presenter chooses the presentation format; it is recommended that they discuss this with the course instructor in advance. 3.2 Individual seminar paper The aim of the seminar paper is to explore a topic of your choice in depth, elaborating on a question or issue of your own and developing it independently in a problem-centered manner. The paper must be between 8 and 14 pages long. It must be original in terms of copyright, i.e. it must be the author's own intellectual work. The paper must also cite at least six English literary sources. The references and bibliography must be prepared in accordance with Appendix II of the "Guidelines for the Preparation of BA/MA Theses" document, published by the Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Education at Eötvös Loránd University, or APA 7th style. Please also attach the document entitled 'Declaration on the Use of AI'.
