Aim of the course Aim of the course: Learning Objective: To gain knowledge and understanding of theories, models and techniques for intervention in counselling. Learning outcome, competences knowledge: Students will acquire knowledge about: Topics central to counseling. Different Counseling model Various psychological processes in the context of daily life. attitude: Students will acquire an integrated perspective in the context of counseling A critical perspective on relevant literature and own work will be developed. Increasing self-esteem and self-confidence Gaining insight into personal challenges skills: Applying the model of Rogers by motivating and supporting the client for self-actualization Applying the basic and advanced counselling communications skills The ability to integrate and interpret information in the context counseling

Content of the course Topic of the course Counselling Approaches 1. Psychoanalytic Approach 2. Cognitive Behavior Approach, Transactional Approach, Rational Emotive      Approach 3. Humanistic Approach: Person centered approach, Gestalt approach, Existential     Approach 4. Bahavior Theory: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness based Behavior Therapy 4. Other Contemporary Approaches: EMDR, Eclectic and Group Counselling. Learning activities, learning methods Knowledge, attitude, and skills will be developed via interactive lectures, and discussions.
