- Aim of the course Aim of the course:(skills taught) Clinical neuroscience includes neurology, psychiatry, psychology, etc. The aim of neurology is the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of central and peripheral nervous system. Neurology is regarded by many as one of the most difficult and challenging specialties of medicine, and students are easily discouraged by the complexity of the nervous system. To bring the topic closer, first and foremost it is necessary to learn and acquire the ability in the use of the clinical method, which is accomplished by the elicitation of clinical facts: by history, by neurologic examination. This is followed by the interpretation of symptoms and signs in terms of physiology and anatomy, the syndromic formulation and localization of the lesions (anatomic diagnosis), and the pathologic or etiologic diagnosis.
