- Oktatás célja
- Aim of the course: The aim of the course is to give theoretical basement and practical insight into the functions of family therapy, family counselling and family systems. Its purpose is to consider family therapy, family counselling among helping interventions. An additional goal is to get acquainted with the theoretical system and the interventive possibilities of different family therapies. Students are able to decide on the indications and contraindications of family helping interventions and are able to lead the first interview, formulate hypotheses and choose the adequate interventions. Learning outcome, competences knowledge: knows and understands the history of family therapy, the importance of system theory and the complexity of family therapy; knows the helping systems, i.e. the connections between the health care system, social work, education, the law and family consultancy; revises the basis of psychopathology needed in family therapy; understands the possibilities of the use of system theory; becomes acquainted with family problems; i.e. personal, relationship, family, but also social and environmental problems. attitude: The course will potentially change the student’s ability to recognise and explain problems; interpretation of problems mainly by means of the system theory instead of intrapersonal interpretation; strive for adequate usage of professional terminology. skills: recognition of any problems, defining problems; making system-level hypotheses; skilled usage of circular questions; adoption of neutrality; developing empathy skills under controlled conditions, with continuous feedback; learning the methods of family therapy; ability to give homework; explanation of the different levels of family communication; participation in supervision to develop professional identity; separation of professional and private roles. autonomy, responsibility: Students are allowed to apply the family dynamical approach to evaluate the processes and phenomenon. They are only allowed to implement their knowledge into practical work in accordance with their qualifications. They are allowed to apply their knowledge related to the measurements of career assessment.

- Topics of the course Theoretical training period - 25% of the course the basics of family therapy, theory and practice in communication, family, individual and couple life cycles, family categories, special families, methods in family therapy, interventions in family therapy, additional methods in family therapy. recognition of similarities and differences of family therapy and family counselling. Practical training period - 75 % of the course the framework of family counselling in practice; learning first interview; planning interventions developing skills in counselling: empathic presence, effective asking, feedback; the dependence of family counselling on age and life cycles; special situations in counselling; case conservation, supervision; discussion of ethical questions. Learning activities, learning methods Lecture Student activities: Individual, pair and group work, reflections on cases displayed in video films

- Learning requirements, mode of evaluation, criteria of evaluation: requirements exam mark (5-point grading scale) midterm written exam; presence during lesson (15% perhaps); simulative practices in lessons; first interview in family counselling, how to transcribe it.
