- a) Knowledge - Knowledge of theoretical background of transition metal-catalyzed processes b) Abilities - their organic synthetic applications, organic synthesis problem solving, application of catalytic processes in the planning of syntthetic route of complex molecules, c) Attitude - Independently develop his organic synthetic practical knowledge on the basis of the acquired knowledge. d) Autonomy and responsibility - During the studies he/she accepts and follows the professional expectations.
- Course content
- Discussion of elementary steps of catalytic cycles (structure-reactivity relationship), discussion of basic catalytic transformations: hydrogenation, hydroformylation, polymerization, cross-coupling reactions, epoxidation, dihydroxylation, metathesis, cyclopropanation, C-H activation, photocatalysis.
- Assessment method
- Written exam at the end of the semester with five-scale assessment, K(5).
