Course content
Overview of metal complexes based on the VB and MO theories. Introduction into ligand field theory and Jahn-Teller effect by examples. Electron transfer reaction types and their theoretical interpretation. Multiple bonded metal-metal complexes and metal clusters. Structure and reactivity of borane clusters. Structural differences in metals, intermetallic compounds, semiconductors and superconductors. The structure of polioxo-metallates and metal organic frameworks (MOFs). Supramolecular chemistry. Chemistry in non-aqueus media.
Assessment method
Written and oral exam with five-grade scale.
