- Learning outcomes
- The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the most important research areas in applied linguistics.
- Course content
- The most frequently covered topics include: individual difference research, discourse analysis, pragmatics, testing, second language acquisition theories, linguistic analysis, psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics. The course intends to include both theoretical considerations and empirical results. Students will have a chance to read about the most important issues in applied linguistics and the seminar will include small hands-on tasks for the students to try out. The course addresses AI-related knowledge and skills relevant to the course content.
- Assessment method
- Students attending this course will be asked to provide feedback on the articles, be active members of the class as well as to write up a topic for the term paper.
