- Oktatás célja
- The aim of the course is to familiarize students with cultural aspects of the Tudor period (1485–1603) with special focus on cultural heritage locations by reading and analysing both contemporary textual and visual records and secondary literature.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- The subject is concerned with the history and cultural aspects of the Tudor period (1485–1603), covering a variety of topics such as heritage sites (royal palaces and gardens), court ceremonies, and royal representation. It also gives an insight into some concepts related to heritage tourism and heritage films. We intend to discuss the Tudor period through an examination of contemporary textual and visual historical records as well as secondary literature.
- Számonkérés és értékelés
- In addition to regular class attendance and active participation, a 15-minute PPT presentation and 2 tests (one mid-term and one end-of-semester comprehensive test). In case of 4 absences, an essay on a topic of the teacher and student’s choice is required, with the prior permission of the teacher. No grade will be awarded for more than 4 absences.
