Learning outcomes
1.      The aim of this introductory lecture course is to provide students with an overview of some of the major issues in English applied linguistics.
Course content
1.      Some of the important topics to be discussed during the lecture course include second language learning theories, communicative competence, individual variables in language learning, language testing, psycholinguistics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, and world Englishes. The course addresses AI-related knowledge and skills relevant to the course content.
Assessment method
1.      End-of-term written examination based on the lectures and set readings.
