COURSE DESCRIPTION (GENERAL DESCRIPTION) Course title: Medical anthropology Course code: PSZM21-MO-SZOM-115 Head of the course: Lajtai László Aim of the course To increase the knowledge and skills of students in interdisciplinary areas of Clinical Psychology and Medical Anthropology Aim of the course: To support students who intend to approach their studies from interdisciplinary angles as well. Learning outcome, competences knowledge: Knowledge on the history and significance of Cultural Anthropology Knowledge on research methodology of participant observation Knowledge on Medical Anthropology Knowledge on the link between Medical Anthropology and Clinical Psychology/Psychiatry attitude: Ability to explain and discuss personal views and field experience in teaching groups Ability to listen, professionally accept or object the views of others’ interpretations skills: Ability to apply knowledge and experience of Anthropology in Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry Ability to carry out pilot research using the method of anthropological fieldwork autonomy, responsibility: Students are able to apply the acquired knowledge on their own, in accordance with the ethical guidelines of psychology, but only for purposes corresponding to their level of competence.
