Oktatás célja
The aim of the course is that through evaluating the realization of the Development Plan (which they prepared at Workshop 2. of the previous term), students learn to follow up a strategy, a programme or an institution development process, to implement the results of the development process and to write an evaluating, summarizing review about it.
Tantárgy tartalma
The seminar also provides students with an opportunity to reflect on their internships, offers students regular guidance before the internship, as well as regular contact with the lecturer during the internship. This seminar has to be completed concurrently with an approved internship. 1. Students compare and contrast internship experiences across disciplines and discuss them in larger civic, political, and social contexts. Points of comparison include: a. Skills acquired during the internship, and the broader application of those skills; b. The overall quality of work over the course of the semester; c. The organization’s effectiveness in relationship to its mission; d. The broader social, political, and cultural factors that play a role in the organization’s ability to fulfill its goals. 2. Students identify the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be effective leaders in the nonprofit and civil society sectors. 3. Students pinpoint key civic values and issues that motivate them personally, and identify strategies for addressing those issues.
