- The course acquaints students with requirements of and the competencies needed to achieve in a higher-education setting. The practical course is based on individual and small-group activities in the field of learning and communication, emphasizing learning and practicing skills. Linking theory, practice and self-reflection is encouraged. The aim of the practicum is to acquaint students with requirements of higher education, help develop competencies and study habits necessary for successful achievements in a higher-education setting through familiarization with basic theories of learning and communication via individual and small-group activities and self-reflection in the field of communication and learning. Learning outcome, competences knowledge: Knowing the typical written, oral, scientific, public, and everyday genres of psychology and their systems of rules; Having an overall view of the established procedures of the acquisition of texts and cultural phenomena, and of the contexts of interpretation accepted in the profession; attitude: Being capable of cooperation and solving tasks in teams; Being sensitive to and interested in noticing psychological phenomena and problems; Having effective communication and problem solving skills; Having an ethical and humane behavior in human relationships; Taking responsibility for his/her work, and being aware of the possible consequences of their work; skills: Being able to perceive human behavior distinctly and recognizing situations efficiently; Being able to use modern presentation devices, and can give presentations in various fields of psychology independently; Being initiative, can make decisions independently and in the community;

- Individual progress is monitored via regular hand-ins and a presentation to be prepared and delivered in pair-work.
