Oktatás célja
The course will introduce students to the basic concepts of oncology and onco-psychology, including the psychosocial phenomena that accompany cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as the psychological tools available to support patients, their relatives, and healthcare providers. The course aims to provide a broad overview of the emotional phenomena associated with cancer and their management. It will provide insight into the risk factors, epidemiology, diagnostic and treatment process, institutional settings, national and international treatment protocols, and the history of the development of psychosocial oncology. Learning outcome, competences knowledge: basic psychosocial oncology skills psychosocial oncological interventions low-intensity tools attitude: person-centred approach collaborative empiricism supportive, positive regard multidisciplinary approach, interoperability skills: using of low-intensity psychosocial interventions basic orientation in the field of oncology implementation of a multidisciplinary approach using psychosocial oncology tools The relevant provisions of the Academic Regulations for Students apply to the completion of the course. Absence: In the case of practical course or seminar, absences are limited to a maximum of 25% of the classes (up to three classes for a two-hour/week course) and do not need to be announced in advance or justified. Absences up to a maximum of 30% (four classes for a two-hour/week course) are permitted, but in this case the course can only be completed by doing extra work. Absences above 30% automatically mean that the course is not completed. The instructor is not obliged to provide options for online participation for students. The following general rules of behaviour are applicable for the course: Please do not disturb the class by being late. Nevertheless, if you are late, please try to join the class with the least amount of disturbance. If a delay is foreseen, please inform the instructor. Communicate with the instructor only through official and pre-arranged channels (e.g. official email, Teams, Neptun). Please do not disturb the class by eating, unless this is necessary for health reasons. Please refrain from private mobile phone use and other private online activities during the class. Please communicate with your peers and the instructor with respect and in a manner consistent with the values of the university; no person should be offended because of their background, group belonging,  ability or opinion.

Learning requirements, mode of evaluation, and criteria of evaluation: The active presence is essential (max 3 missed classes can be accepted) Students are required to read the material. Then, they give a talk to the class about the current section of the material, lasting up to 15 minutes; we discuss it actively in class. Produce a three-part podcast on psychosocial oncology or develop a detailed plan for a psychosocial oncology intervention. Deadline: 12 December 2025. Mode of evaluation: practical mark (1-5) Criteria of evaluation: active presence presentation podcast or intervention plan Percentages of sub-assignments in terms of course completion: ⅓ presentation, ⅓ podcast/intervention plan, ⅓ class activity
