COURSE DESCRIPTION (GENERAL DESCRIPTION) Course title: Mental Disorders- a Journey through the History of Films and Cinematography Course code: PSYM21-MO-DIAG-106 Head of the course: Lajtai László Aim of the course Aim of the course: The aim of the course is to increase the knowledge and skills of students in interdisciplinary areas of Clinical Psychology/Psychiatry and Film Art, to support Clinical Psychology students who intend to approach their studies from interdisciplinary angles as well and to support all other students who wish to have live experience of the presence of themes of Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry in Contemporary Art. Learning outcome, competences knowledge: Knowledge of Mental Disorders Knowledge of the presence of the theme of Mental Disorders in Film Knowledge of the History of Cinematography attitude: Ability to explain and discuss personal views in teaching groups Ability to listen, professionally accept or object the views of others’ interpretations skills: Ability to apply knowledge and experience of watching films in Clinical Psychology and psychiatry Ability to practise interdisciplinary approach to areas of Science and Art autonomy, responsibility: Students are able to apply the acquired knowledge on their own, in accordance with the ethical guidelines of psychology, but only for purposes corresponding to their level of competence. A kurzus célja: A mentális zavarokkal kapcsolatos ismeretek növelése, a határterületekkel kapcsolatos perspektíva tágítása és az empátiás készségek javítása a Filmművészet és a Filmtörténet egyes fontos alkotásainak megismerésén és elemzésén keresztül.

Számonkérés és értékelés

A kurzus teljesítésének feltételei: 1.     Aktív és konstruktív részvétel a legalább hat alkalommal a félév során (75%) 2.     Három és öt oldal közötti terjedelmű esszé írása és leadása a szorgalmi időszak végéig melyben a hallgató összehasonlítja az egyik, a félév során közösen látott filmben megjelenő mentális zavart (vqgy problémát) egy általa szabadon kiválasztott másik filmben megjelenő hasonló zavarral.
